The Pittsburgh Modular Cell[90] Foundation System is a modular analog synthesizer system made from 2012 to 2013, one of the company’s earliest systems. Pittsburgh Modular was formed in 2012 and became one of the main figures that came about in the resurgence of modular synthesizers. Alongside companies like Doepfer, Make Noise, and Intellijel, Pittsburgh Modular is one of the most popular designers of modern Eurorack modules. The Cell[90] contains the original versions of some of their flagship modules, as well as several unique discontinued modules.
The Cell[90] is a Eurorack format modular synthesizer, so it makes all of it’s connections via ⅛” cables and jacks. All of the modules have labels for their inputs and outputs, but are fairly minimal in their approach. It may be helpful on occasions to look at the documents for a module if you aren’t sure what’s going where or what’s doing what. This helps familiarize yourself with the functions of the specific modules and let’s you use them in more advanced ways.
